DRF handled 5,041 new digital-abuse cases between May 2024 and December 2025.1
The reported harms included hacking, deepfake abuse, blackmail and sextortion.2
Women and trans women were among the groups most affected by several categories of digital abuse.3
NCCIA Punjab established a dedicated cell for cybercrime involving women and children in July 2026.4
The cell covers cyberstalking, blackmail, digital exploitation and misuse of private images or videos.5
