Mir Raza Ali was reported missing on 28 July 2026. His body was recovered in Gulistan-e-Jauhar the following day.1
A second post-mortem reached findings inconsistent with suicide. The final report of the second post-mortem described the findings as inconsistent with suicide as the manner of death.2
A judicial commission is investigating the case. The Sindh government formed a commission headed by Justice Omar Sial to examine the circumstances of the death and possible negligence during the investigation.3
The Sindh High Court declined the family's request for a court-ordered JIT. The court nevertheless directed police to use available resources to conclude the investigation impartially, fairly and expeditiously.4
The commission has continued to record evidence and witness statements. On 3 September, it recorded statements from Mir Raza's business partner, an online taxi driver and others while examining questions relating to evidence handling and the timeline.5
